“When I wrote ‘Austin,’ I was heartbroken, and I wanted to create something genuine,” she recalls. “We started strumming chords, and I freestyled the melody and lyrics. The producer stopped and said, ‘What did you just say?’ and I replied, ‘Oh, did your boots stop working?’ That’s how the song was born.”
