Asta is a queer, Asian poet, storyteller and artist. She identifies as neurodivergent and cisgender woman. Most of her poems and writing are inspired by her experiences and the intersections between her identities. On her journey to self-compassion, healing and self-acceptance, she writes and paints as a way to understand herself. Her first poetry collection, Alien Nation: A Poetry Collection About Finding Home, chronicles her journey from feeling like an alien to living in a nation made just for aliens like her. She is learning to embrace herself through words, through connection to others and living in a way that inspires her. She describes herself as a unicorn-loving, plushie-obsessed, slam-her-hands-on-the-keys pianist, comic artist and whatever creative adventures she might embark on.
