As America approaches a pivotal presidential election, Brittany Claybrooks, former Councilwoman of East Orange, New Jersey, is urging young adults to get involved. With a strong background in civic leadership and a dedication to her community, Claybrooks hopes to inspire the next generation to use their vote to shape the country’s future.

A Career Rooted in Community Service

Claybrooks recently ran as a candidate for New Jersey’s 10th Congressional District. Before that, she served as a Councilwoman for East Orange’s Second Ward and as Director of the Division of Planning for the City of Plainfield. Throughout her career, she has focused on:

“I think this election is reflective of of both the horror of racism and oppression that we have seen before and the hope of change that always prevails in times like this. It is the beauty of living in this country. My hope and work is rooted in the accountability that should follow the high of this moment. Young adults and first time voters really want to know what this means for us. It has always been that way. It is just our generation’s turn now. We must both accept and show up in that!”
