"The young characters in this story act in a very developmentally expected ways using perception-based magical thinking. This gives the adult who cares for a child with an incarcerated parent a glimpse into their understandings & behaviors. I want this book to support healthy, healing conversations that minimize stigma & isolation and build empathy, which is why I included a discussion guide & links to reliable resources."
