Stringz EMB took a minute to weigh in on the new single and video…teamwork is a big key for him.

Are your own life events reflected in “You”?

My own life events are definitely reflected in “You.” We met in college, & the moment I saw her, I knew. Honestly, we’ve been connected ever since. Ask her, she’ll tell you.

What do you think your audience will learn from “You?

I think my audience will get a sense of the passion that I put into everything around me. Lyrically, they’ll take away the emotion that I share for my wife, but they’ll also get a sense of my vulnerable sensitivity as an artist & man.

What was your favorite and least favorite part of production for “You”?

My favorite part of the production was shooting the lounge scene. The amount of love that I received that day was so fulfilling. Everything was smooth & easy. The outcome is gorgeous. Honestly, there really wasn’t a least favorite part. I tend to only put good people around me, so my ventures are typically filled with good vibes.

Who influenced you to become a musical artist?

My older cousin, Gerald Carr, influenced me to sing. He was/is the singer of the family. He’d always be going through the house belting every chance that he got. That’s what motivated me to start singing. As far as becoming an artist, that came from God. At a certain point in life, I fell really deep into depression, & I began to pray to God. I asked what was out there for me & what would I do with 100% effort, even if I never made ANY money: Singing was the instant answer. So, from there on, I strapped down, wrote my very first song, “Time,” and haven’t looked back since.

Who helped you make the “You” music video possible?

My entire team helped me make the video possible. I have to start by giving a major shout out to my Cinematographer, Andrew Stephen & his crew. The guy is AMAZING! His attention to detail is unmatched. He’s also incredibly imaginative. Preston & Terry, you fellas make everything smooth. When thinking about a lead lady, it really didn’t take me long at all. I’ve been familiar with Alysha for quite some time. We’ve blessed the same stages as artists & we even have family ties. Not to mention, she’s drop dead gorgeous. I’ve heard several times that she was a PERFECT choice. Teamwork makes the dream work.

What do you hope comes next for you and your artistry?

For me & my artistry, I hope & pray that everything that is meant to happen, will happen. My mission is to continue to give 100% into everything that I do, & the card will fall where they may.

I am in the process of recording my new album. This project will be a masterpiece & I’m so excited to hear the people’s reaction. After that, the plan is to produce my yearly show & then go one tour with a Major artist.

What has been the biggest surprise during your time as an artist?

The biggest surprise that I’ve had since becoming an artist is the entire journey. The key is to keep yourself balanced & humble. Balanced in a sense of not being overwhelmed by the highs, while maintaining during the lows. The way that I keep myself humble is by having gratitude in every single thing. That way, it’s easy for me to focus. With a head full of steam & my head down, I push as hard as possible, & everything that happens was always supposed to happen.
