Subriel Martias Crowned Champion Over Jeremias Ponce
Subriel Matias (19-1 19KOs) made relatively quick work of Jeremias Ponce (30-1 20 KOs) by dropping the now former IBF 140 Pound Champion with a TKO in five rounds.
“To be honest, I wanted to knock him out on the sixth, but the round was over. I told myself that I was going to work him harder, but his corner stopped the fight,” Martias said after the fight.
The return Minneapolis’ native of Jamal “Shango” James provided equally as much excitement. After being out of the ring since October 2021 losing his title to Radzhab Butaev by a TKO, James’ shook off the rust to regain his greatness by winning unanimously decision over Alberto Palmetta.
“I know I can be a champion again because I was a champion before. I have to stay focused. Stay in the gym and back and study this fight – my last to fights – and step it up,” James confidently boasted.
